La Royale Prat Ar Coum are Creuses Speciales Oysters which have been raised during at least 3 years, in the sea floor of the Aber Wrac’h, at the bottom end of Brittany, in an exceptional oysters park named “Le Grand Parc » in Brittany, France.

La Royale Prat Ar Coum oysters are known for their meat rate and a unique long finish offering a combination of sweetness and liveliness, salty, with a slight hazelnut after-taste.

La Royale Prat Ar Coum is a Protected Designation of Origin and a control limited production, the farm follow a Traditional and unique way of working to keep their oysters premium and make sure your selection will always deliver the same incredible taste and experience.

In 1898, the Madec family settled in Lannilis in the meadow of Coum on the sheltered banks of the Aber Benoît. Early oyster farmers in the Abers, they choose the best parks to farm in. In Prat-Ar-Coum, big tables like the "Maison Prunier" or "l'Huîtrière" in Lille already exist.

These basins are still visible today on the beaches at Prat-Ar-Coum. The oyster farming industry in each of these countries has faced hardships (war, epizootics, oil spills) and passed on its knowledge and mastery to the next generation. It is now the turn of the 5th generation of Madec to join the firm.
