Franquette stands for one variety of quality walnuts, with a distinctive aromas of hazelnut and blond kernel. The walnut tree giving the Franquette nuts is vigorous, productive, offering harvest from mid-October under 2 AOP certifications: "Noix du Périgord", in Corrèze and Dordogne, and "Noix de Grenoble", with a terroir limited to Isère, Drôme and Savoie, at the feet of the French Alps. The Franquette is the most commonly consumed table walnut.
